Your data belongs to you

AnimaPulse privacy policy — the pet health record. Last updated: 12 August 2026. This is an English translation of the French policy, which prevails in case of a discrepancy.

The promise, plainly

What data?

Nothing else: no location, no address book, no sellable usage data.

What for?

Only to provide the service: showing your record, scheduling your reminders, and producing the shares you create yourself (family sharing, pet-sitter link, vet link — all revocable, the links expiring on their own).

The emails we send are strictly transactional (address confirmation, forgotten password). No newsletter unless you ask for one.

Launch waiting list — if you leave your address on the site to hear about the release, it is used for that alone: one single email, on launch day. A sign-up is only kept once confirmed through a link sent by email (double opt-in); without that click, nothing is retained. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that deletes the row, and the whole list is purged once the announcement has gone out. Your address is never sold, never shared, and never added to any newsletter.

Legal basis: performance of the contract between us — providing the service you asked for. The anonymous audience measurement (below) rests on our legitimate interest in improving the app; you can switch it off at any time. The waiting list rests on your consent, which you withdraw in one click.

For how long?

As long as your account exists. When the account is deleted, everything is erased immediately — database and files — with no retention copy. Encrypted technical backups are overwritten within 14 days.

Audience measurement

To improve the app and the site, we count anonymous usage — "a vaccine was added", "the pricing page was viewed" — with open-source tools (Umami and Aptabase) self-hosted on our own servers in France. No personal identifier, no content (never an animal's name, never an amount), no IP address kept, no tracking cookie: these measurements cannot identify you, which is why they need no consent banner. In the app, a switch ("Your data") turns this off at any time.

Who has access?

You, the people you invite, and the recipients of the links you create. On the technical side, here is who may process some data:

Apart from those sign-ins and payments that you initiate yourself, the data in your record stays hosted in France and is not transferred outside the European Union.

Your rights

The service is run from France under the GDPR, and these rights apply to you wherever you live. Access and portability: the "Export my data" button in the app. Rectification: everything is editable in the app. Erasure: "Delete my account" in the app. For anything else: contact@animapulse.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL.
